How Much Does an Animated Video Actually Cost?

The honest answer is: it depends on what has to happen on screen, not on how many seconds the finished video runs for. A tight 60-second product explainer with one location and one product can cost less than a 90-second brand film that needs a consistent character across six different scenes - even though the explainer is technically the same length as a third of the brand film.

That's the opposite of how most people expect video pricing to work, so it's worth explaining why.

Runtime isn't the cost driver - complexity is

Every second of animated video requires the same underlying work: a script, a shot plan, generated footage, and an edit pass to bring it together. What actually changes the price is how much has to be consistent across those seconds - the same character's face, the same brand palette, the same visual world - and how many revision rounds that consistency typically needs to get right.

A single striking shot held for fifteen seconds can take longer to get right than five quick cuts of a product from different angles, because one shot has nowhere to hide an imperfection.

What each package is actually built for

FromDemo runs three packages, and each one maps to a real difference in scope rather than just a price tier:

  • Basic ($1,200) - a full video up to 60 seconds, with script, storyboard, and one revision round. This is the right fit for a single-idea teaser or one social post, not a multi-scene story.
  • Standard ($2,200) - 2 to 4 minutes, hero shots at max quality, two revision rounds, and 3 vertical cuts included. This is where most music videos and full product films land, because they need more than one scene to hold together.
  • Premium ($4,200) - full art direction and character or brand consistency across every scene, animated lyrics or captions, and launch-day support. This is the package for a brand story or a campaign film where nothing in the video is allowed to look inconsistent.

The one question that decides which package fits

Before asking "how long should my video be," it's worth asking: does the same visual element - a character, a product, a specific look - need to hold together across multiple scenes? If the answer is no, a shorter, simpler package usually covers it. If the answer is yes, that consistency is exactly what the higher packages are built to deliver.

What's the same across every package

Regardless of package, every FromDemo project runs the same process: a discovery call, a 50% deposit matched with a full script and storyboard for approval, production, edit and grade, then delivery against the remaining balance. Turnaround is 5 to 10 business days for Basic and Standard, 10 to 15 for Premium - the extra time on Premium is almost entirely the consistency work, not extra runtime.

Price depends on scope and complexity, not runtime - a 60-second product video can cost the same as a 4-minute music video, or the reverse.

If none of the three packages sound like an exact fit, that's normal - most projects need a quick conversation to place correctly. The quote form takes about a minute and gives a straight answer instead of a guess.
